Are Dental X-Rays Safe?

A set of dental X-rays exposes you to a small fraction of the radiation you receive from everyday background sources. Digital X-rays, which we use, cut that exposure dramatically compared with old film.

Why they’re needed

X-rays reveal decay hiding between teeth, bone loss from gum disease, infections, and problems with wisdom teeth, none of which show up on a visual exam alone.
