An implant replaces the tooth root with a titanium post, topped by a custom crown. It stands on its own without touching the neighboring teeth, and it preserves the jawbone that otherwise shrinks after tooth loss. Implants are extremely long-lasting, though they involve minor surgery and a healing period.
A bridge fills the gap by anchoring a replacement tooth to the teeth on either side. It’s faster, involves no surgery, and is a great option in the right situation — but it relies on (and alters) the neighboring teeth and doesn’t preserve bone the way an implant does.
If the neighboring teeth are healthy and you want the most durable, standalone solution, an implant is often ideal. If you want a quicker, non-surgical fix, a bridge may be the better fit. Compare implants and bridges, or book a consultation and we’ll advise what’s best for you.
